Bar Esedra welcomes you into a refined setting where mixology meets Umbrian botanicals such as rosemary, juniper, honey, saffron and wildflowers. The Exedra, located in the gardens directly in front of the bar, embodies historical value and serves as a symbol of hospitality, encounter, cultural exchange and ceremony. At San Clemente, the exedra embraces each guest as they step into a precious world.
Our signature cocktails are made from the finest local ingredients, including some you might not expect in a drink. For a luscious earthy treat, try a truffle Negroni or truffle sour. Extra virgin olive oil also makes a frequent appearance in our drinks menu.
Umbria is home to many excellent vintners, and we celebrate this heritage in our dedicated wine room. To explore the region’s viticultural breadth and depth, attend a workshop hosted by a local sommelier. Discover native Umbrian varietals like the full-bodied Sagrantino di Montefalco, as well as the fruity yet dry Grechetto white wine.

At our bar in Umbria, we uphold the time-honoured tradition of aperitivo, the original happy hour. Negroni, aperol spritz, bellini… these and other Italian cocktails are classic ways to whet the appetite. To immerse yourself in the region, try a concoction of olive oil, fresh herbs, citrus liqueur and Quattro Gatti gin – all with an Umbrian provenance.
Umbria is also home to about 20 microbreweries, and Italian Grape Ale (IGA) is a brew to discover. The region’s proximity to the Apennines and its pure spring water is another reason Umbrian beers are of such high quality.
Alcohol-free drinks also make for excellent aperitivi. Our menu features a range of Italian sodas as well as Sanbittèr, a sparkly Campari-like infusion of fruits and herbs.
